Important Information About the Pricing Data

120

The prices of drugs on the list will be updated weekly. The prices displayed for each drug are from the most recent claims submitted by licensed New Jersey pharmacies to the New Jersey Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services as their "usual and customary" prices. The usual and customary prices of a drug should be comparable to the cash price a customer will be charged by the pharmacy.

For a number of reasons, the prices actually charged by your pharmacy may not be the same price that appears on the Registry. The prices of prescription drugs may vary from day to day. Also, the unit price on the Registry is based upon the quantity purchased in the last reported claim. The prices contained in this registry are meant to help you compare prices at different pharmacies and are not a guaranteed price. Always call or visit your pharmacy to find out the price before buying your medication.

If no pharmacy is shown for your town or ZIP code, then no pharmacy in that town or ZIP code has submitted a claim to the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services for that particular drug since the opening of the Registry. If a drug is not listed for your city, select a nearby city or town.

It is very important that you tell your health care practitioner and the pharmacist about all of the medications and supplements that you are taking and to ask them how to avoid harmful interactions between those drugs. You should also ask your healthcare practitioner and pharmacist about any side effects associated with drugs you are taking or any other question you may have about the drugs.
